What if Harvard Business Review could talk back to you?
I’ve always believed the next big leap in learning wouldn’t come from more content, it would come from making the best content come alive.
So, imagine this: what if the best thought leadership from Harvard Business Review could talk back to you? What if it could coach you, practise with you, evaluate how well you’ve applied a new skill, nudge you to reinforce the foundations, and tailor examples to your role and your organisation?
That’s exactly what we’ve just made possible.
Today, we announced a first-of-its-kind partnership between HowNow and Harvard Business Impact, the learning division of Harvard Business Publishing. Through this partnership, curated content from Harvard Business Review (HBR) will now power HowNow Guru, our purpose-built AI tutor that teaches, coaches, and adapts to every learner’s context.
HBR is the gold standard for trusted business expertise, decades of leadership, strategy, and innovation thinking distilled from the world’s best minds.
Guru, on the other hand, was built to bring that kind of expertise to life through dynamic, AI-driven experiences. It doesn’t just share ideas, it teaches, questions, and helps people apply them.
By bringing the two together, we’re not just offering another content integration. We’re redefining what learning looks like in the age of AI.
L&D leaders have long struggled to bridge the gap between learning and real performance. Now, they can give their people access to credible, world-class knowledge from HBR—delivered through an intelligent tutor that knows their role, understands their skill gaps, and adapts in real time.
This partnership also signals something bigger: a new business model for how trusted content can be delivered and monetised through agentic AI.
For content providers, it’s a new way to bring their expertise to life, not as static courses or articles, but as living, interactive teachers that guide people in the flow of work.
For organisations, it’s a new way to build credibility and context into their learning ecosystem, combining world-class thought leadership with their own internal knowledge to create Gurus that feel deeply relevant to their people and their goals.
And this is just the start. HBR is the first of several partners joining the Guru ecosystem this year, as we continue building what I like to think of as the “App Store for Expertise.”
Later this year, enterprise customers will be able to buy HBR-powered Knowledge Packs, carefully curated from HBR’s vast library of 30,000+ assets and delivered through Guru. Or, they can unlock a ready-made Guru designed for a specific use case, like becoming a new manager.
Either way, it’s the start of a future where trusted expertise isn’t something you just read, it’s something that coaches you.
I couldn’t be more excited for what’s ahead.
